Allen Jorgensen - Photographer

Allen Jorgensen, photographer, writer and traveller, has co-authored a number of books on the steam railways of South Africa and Africa, one of which, ‘The Great Steam Trek’, has become a collector’s item.

Allen has always been passionate about the landscape of the Little Karoo and especially the unique Kammanassie mountain range., Having moved to Uniondale in 2010 ,he is extensively researching the history of the area and its people and is creating a fascinating photographic record of the Little Karoo’s many moods – dramatic scenery, big skies, outrageous sunsets, traditional Cape architecture and of course the families who have lived here for generations.

Allen is always happy to share his knowledge and passion and can lead historical tours.
